Kyungsung University (President Jong-geun Lee) announced that it held a 'Body Shape Complementing T-shirt Virtual Brand Pop-up Exhibition' at the Kyungsung University Art Museum 2 from Monday the 27th to Thursday the 30th of last month.
The FIT team (3rd year Fashion Design students Lee Hee-jin and Jeong Hye-jin, 4th year students Kim Kyeong-eun, Kim Yun-ho, and Kim Hye-rim, and advisor Professor Chae Hee-ju) analyzed the characteristics of each body type and carried out a project to directly plan and apply the retail process such as establishing a virtual brand, design, production, and promotion, and then produced a body-compensating T-shirt using 2D CAD and 3D virtual fitting programs.
Also, by participating in the Passion + Semester System as a 'New Industry Creation Type', I set three body types - straight, wave, and natural - through detailed adjustment of the avatar using 'z-weave', a 3D virtual dressing program by G-Motion Co., Ltd. I also created a 2D pattern using ' UTTU CAD' by CA PLANET Co., Ltd. and transferred it back to 'z-weave' to finish the sampling work. 'z-weave' is a 3D clothing design software based on the 3D clothing simulation Zelus technology. It can reflect actual clothing patterns, physical properties such as fabric strength, elasticity, thickness, and refraction in the design, and can produce accurate color expressions of clothing and 3D products similar to actual products through clothing and avatar specialized rendering technology.
The final product was not in the typical pop-up store style, but rather, was divided into an exhibition experience space and a brand hall with a detective agency concept, and VMD was carried out, receiving a great response from visitors. The FIT team said, “It wasn’t easy because there was no part of the process of carrying out the pop-up exhibition that we didn’t touch, but it was an opportunity to learn cooperation with team members and grow, and based on this experience, we hope to get one step closer to the I-Brand that all team members want to achieve.”
Meanwhile, Kyung Sung University's Career and Psychological Counseling Center plans to expand various career support programs so that students can find their career paths by designing and realizing their own 'I-Brand' during their college life.
