UTTUIntroducing the 'May' pattern room, working with [Name].
I met with CEO Bang Soon-hyeok at the May Pattern Studio, located across from Dongdaemun General Market.

Q. Please give us a brief introduction.
A. May has archived practical technical experience and data regarding the compositional balance of clothing, and has pattern designers for each garment type.
Q. What kind of clothes do you mainly produce?
A.Currently, men's outerwear accounts for about 60%. The items include men's coats, suits, and casual wear, followed by women's suits, sports and outdoor wear, golf wear, and children's wear.

Q. What is the obedience and skill you are most confident in, teacher?
A.These are men's coats, suits, and jumpers.
Q. Please briefly explain the production process.
A.When a pattern is commissioned, the assigned pattern designer presents the initial composition, and by combining the pattern designer's opinions on the design for each item, an in-house fitting is performed, modifications are made, and the result is delivered to the client.
Q. What do you consider most important when creating patterns?
A.It is the balance of the pattern and the designer's intentionality.

Q. Who is the most memorable client?
A.The designer who commissioned a men's trench coat and was extremely delighted that it was perfectly realized in the first sample.
Q. If there is anything you would like to emphasize when commissioning a pattern,
A. The planner's intention to express must be clear—visual, functional, and emotional....

Q. Please tell me your philosophy on fashion.
A. I believe that fashion is a way of life that accompanies me through every moment. It remembers my most beautiful moments and offers courage, determination, happiness, and comfort... When looking at clothes or people, please stand about 150cm away and observe with a relaxed mind.

Q. finally UTTUWhat led you to start selling patterns in the market?
A. Patterns are something that can only be understood once the garment is made, making it difficult to grasp and utilize the inherent content of the pattern itself.UTTUAware of the inconvenience regarding these aspects, we decided to sell patterns, judging that it is a system that can help resolve difficulties in domestic clothing manufacturing, such as developing domestic pattern CAD.
