#7. Correcting the length of pants for long-legged body types




Many women envy the long legs of models,

Simply lowering the hem of a skirt or trousers often fails to create balance and proportion in the outfit.

Here are some tips for adjusting the length of your pants for people with long legs:


 

If you increase the length of your pants by less than 3cm,

<Figure 1> Place a piece of paper above and below the knee line cut, and attach it parallel to the amount you want to stretch, making sure that the seam is connected exactly vertically. (Before cutting, you should first draw the seam line of the trouser fold.)


Naturally reconnect the inner seam and the side seam of the pants.


If you increase the length of your pants by more than 4cm,

As shown in <Figure 2>, two cutting lines must be inserted into the front and back pants patterns.

Place one halfway between the bottom line and the knee line, and place the other halfway between the knee line and the hem of the trousers.


Spread each horizontal incision line by half the total desired length. Then, check that the connected grain direction is exactly vertical. Draw the inner seam and side seam lines naturally again.
